How To Choose The Perfect Bathroom Scale

When trying to lose weight or build muscle mass, the bathroom scale is the most commonly used tool in tracking results and discovering if your efforts are working or not. In an instant, you can see where you currently stand on whichever goal you are striving for. A bathroom scale is also a powerful resource in both weight loss and muscle building because of the added motivation it can provide. If your reading is less than the last time you checked, then you can get a boost of confidence in knowing that what you are doing is working effectively. If your reading is more than your previous time, you can still benefit from the “kick in the pants” effect of the setback and increase or modify your actions in order to have a lower readout the next time you step on the scale.

Choosing The Best Bathroom Scale

With so many benefits being offered by bathroom scales, selecting the right one should be done with a little consideration.Getting the cheapest model, both in terms of cost and quality, will result in not getting the maximum possible advantages that a bathroom scale can provide.

1. Go digital

Analog scales can provide a good estimation in how much you weigh. However, when trying to accomplish anything of value, it always helps to know exactly where you stand. Analog bathroom scales will give you a margin of error of a few pounds. Digital scales will give you an exact number and this is what’s needed to track your progress.

2. Smaller increments

Some bathroom scales only provide weight readings rounded to the nearest whole number. So if you weigh 145.1 pounds, the scale will say that you weigh 145 lbs. But if you come back the next time and weigh 145.4 lbs, the scale will still give you a readout of 145 lbs. So you will believe that you have made no progress or setback, but the reality is that you actually gained weight. Getting scales that provide readouts at smaller increments will give you a more accurate view of your efforts. Look for top rated bathroom scales reviews that have increments in the .5 lb or even .2 lb level.

3. Body fat percentage capability

Sometimes a number can be misleading, and this can be true with weight measurements. If all body tissue had the same density, this would not be a problem. However, since fat and muscle have different densities, going by just the weight readouts may provide a false indication of success or failure. If you are trying to lose weight by using exercise, you may in fact be building muscle tissue. Since muscle tissue is much denser than fat tissue, you could be losing unwanted body fat but still show that you have gained weight by the bathroom scale readout. You will think that your weight loss efforts are ineffective when in fact they are working quite well. Bathroom scales that allow users to know their body fat percentages eliminates this issue. Using both the body weight and body fat percentage reading together will give you the best idea of how efficient your actions are.

The bathroom scale can be a critical tool in your weight loss or muscle building goals. Selecting the right bathroom scale is critical. Be sure to choose one that provides a digital readout, has smaller increments, and can give the body fat percentage readings.

Making Your Bathroom A Part of The Home

Many years ago, bathrooms were simple utility rooms where people would spend a few minutes to make personal ablutions. It would only take a few minutes to wash the accumulation of day’s grime away. This notion about bathrooms remained. Whenever homeowners decide to make some renovations, the bathroom is oftentimes left out. New carpets and furnishing will be added to the living room. New cabinets and counters will give the kitchen a “face lift.” New wall papers and drapes will enhance the cosy ambiance of the bedrooms. The washroom though will remain drab as ever. Just like any other room in the house, bathrooms have to be appealing and relaxing too.

Is a bathroom makeover really necessary?

When it comes to redecorating, bathrooms are one of the parts of the house that get the least attention. This can be due to the fact that people would not spend too much time in these rooms. Bathrooms are seldom accessed by visitors too. However, lots of people are now changing the looks of their bathrooms. After a weary day at work, a soak in the tub would be more relaxing if there is no naked bulb in the ceiling that would hurt the eyes. A shower would be more refreshing if done in an ideally decorated bathroom that provides the right ambiance. Bathrooms are parts of the house and it is just right for these rooms to receive the same attention given to the other rooms.

Transforming drab bathrooms

There is really no specific rule on how bathrooms should look. The overall appearance will actually depend on the personality of the homeowner. Magic is not necessary to transform the appearance of this room. A big budget is not necessary either. A new coat of paint will already transform the appearance of bathrooms. Accessories like brightly coloured soap, tissue and toothbrush holders will add a splash of colour to the room. A few potted plants would do a lot in transforming the room’s appearance. It would not take too much effort to make bathrooms functional but a wonderfully decorated parts of the home.

Top Reasons Your Toilet Won’t Flush

FIRST STEP

1) Take the tank lid off the back of the toilet and look inside, a toilet tank needs to fill up with water after each flush or the toilet won’t flush correctly. Without enough water in the tank, the toilet won’t flush with enough force to avoid clogs in the drainpipe.

SECOND STEP

2) Open toilet lid if water level is high then you have a CLOG,  >>>>Click HERE- How To Choose Right flushing Toilet<<<<  If there is anything in the toilet bowl, pieces of toilet paper etc. you have a partial toilet CLOG.

1) Toilet clog, using too much toilet paper or flushing woman’s sanitary products can cause toilet to be clogged.  How to repair a toilet clog- Try using a plunger or toilet auger to push waste through.  You may wish to purchase thinner toilet paper if your household tends to use a lot in one sitting.  Also encourage females to dispose of sanitary products in trash and not down the toilet.

2) Handle breaks or becomes loose, first check the toilet handle. Tighten if needed, if the handle is broken; take the part to your local hardware store. Get a similar replacement.

3) Lift chain is not working properly; sometimes the lift chain that connects to toilet flapper can have too much slack.  When this happens the chain is too loose to pull toilet flapper off flush tube when toilet is flushed.  The water is then not released.  To solve this problem, you simply need to shorten the length of the lift chain so the chain can give enough pull to remove toilet flapper from flush tube.

4) Float Ball sticks; the flush valve can use a tapered rubber float ball or a flapper ball to control the flow of water into the toilet. The float ball can get stuck or the chain can get tangled and cause the float ball not to work properly. The Flapper balls are common on newer flush valves and are connected to the handle lift arm with a lift chain. The float ball is hollow and floats on top of the water as it is being filled in the tank. When the water gets to the desired level, the float ball moves the float arm and turns off the water flow in the ballcock. By bending the float arm you can “fine tune” the point at which the water turns off and stops filling the tank.

5) If the toilet flapper is warped, remove the lid from the toilet tank and take a look inside at the flapper.  The toilet flapper is designed to release water when toilet is flushed and then plug the hole back up, sealing the water inside tank.  If the toilet won’t flush because flapper has deteriorated and is no longer sealing flush tube hole, then this will need to be replaced.  Flappers can easily be purchased at any hardware store and are relatively cheap.  Turn off water, drain tank, and then swap out the old flapper with the new one.  Afterwards, turn water back on, and the toilet should flush properly.

6) If you have a septic tank it just may be full and needing to be emptied.

These are the most common reasons why your toilet won’t flush.  If you find that none of these reasons are the source for why your toilet won’t flush, it may be time to call a licensed plumber.
